This is an announcement to inform you about the discontinuation of software and technical support for pure 3G external cellular modems for all TOSIBOX® Lock products.
After careful consideration and in line with industry best practices, we have decided to discontinue software and technical support for pure 3G external cellular modems for all TOSIBOX® Lock products starting 1 January 2024.
LTE capable cellular modems continue to be supported as documented in our Helpdesk article.
The primary reason for this change is that all major cellular network operators have already ramped down 3G technology, or are considering to do so in near future. Moving forward, we recommend using LTE networks for cellular connectivity. Several Tosibox Lock and Node products contain internal LTE capable cellular module that allows wireless connectivity in remote sites.
