The Key does not work without C drive on Windows

Modified on Tue, 29 May 2018 at 08:19 PM

Symptom

Key software does not start when inserting Key or trying to access Key flash memory.

Cause

If your Windows installation is missing C drive, i.e. when using a boot manager such as Xorboot, TOSIBOX® Key flash drive might be assigned the drive letter C.

Recommended action

TOSIBOX® Key program refuses to start as a safety feature to protect your boot drive in case of drive detection error. To get around this, use Windows’ Disk Management to assign a new drive letter to the TOSIBOX® Key flash drive. Assigning any drive letter after C will fix the problem.
